Students of St. Johns were very busy this week taking on some fun and exciting STEM challenges to mark Engineers Week 2021. Take a look at all of the wonderful work created below:
3rd class
Our 3rd class engineers made telephones from tin cans for Engineer's Week and what a brilliant job they did! These students had lots of fun testing out their new devices with family members at home. Well done on working hard and putting in such great effort with your science lessons 3rd class!
4th class
4th class were busy during the week completing the 'Egg Drop Challenge'. Students had to create parachutes for their eggs, drop these from a height and hope that their design kept their egg from breaking upon landing! 4th class students came up with some very clever designs and had lots of fun testing out their parachutes. Lots of eggs landed safely, without even a crack in their shells! Well done on completing such a fun and creative challenge 4th class!
5th class
5th class challenged themselves to make bridges at home for Engineer's Week. They were tasked with using any materials they had at home to create a sturdy bridge that could hold some weight. Students made all kinds of different bridges from beam bridges to cable-stayed bridges! Check out the variety of wonderful bridges made below. Well done 5th class - you did an amazing job!
