Hi everyone, this is a message on behalf of the student council. We have decided that it would be a great idea to further develop our fantastic school community to introduce a school mascot, which we would use at fundraising events, sports days, open days and any other times when our school comes together as a whole. We discussed this at our student council meeting and came to the conclusion that we want this mascot to be one that the students love, and therefore that the students have designed and named. We will be running a competition for this. Here are the rules:
- You must design what the mascot looks like and give it a name.
- It must not be something which is already a mascot or character, for example, Mr. Tayto, Ronald McDonald, game characters or Leinster Rugby’s Leo the Lion.
- It must be a fun, friendly character that is appropriate for primary school and not in any way scary, but friendly and welcoming.
- It should represent the school and its values in some way.
- You must include a name for the mascot.
- Please put your name and class on the back of the entries and hand them to Ms Ormond, she will have a box in the hall for them.
- You are allowed to design the mascots digitally too, using computers or tablets, these entries can be sent to the student council email which is studentcouncil@stjohnsarklow.ie
All entries all need to be in by Friday the 10th of February.
Enjoy, and we look forward to seeing all your mascot ideas.
