Parents' Association

In our school we have a long standing tradition of a very active Parents Association. We have this because we know that:

• Children do better, behave better and are happier at school when parents and teachers work closely together and when parents are able to give their children support at home

• Teachers can do a better job when they are supported by and work closely with parents

• Parents can do a better job when they have the support of other parents

Their fundraising activities include:

• Silver Circle

• Fortnightly non- uniform days

• Cake Sales

• Raffles

Here is a flavour of some of the wonderful extra activities our P.A. can provide due to their hard work fundraising:

• 6 weeks of dance classes from a professional dance teacher for all 18 classes

• Subsidise one educational trip for each class

• Pay for Aladdin Connect which enhances a school's communication with its parents and texting to parents

• Under our school’s positive behaviour system they provide all prizes for the ‘Credit Box’ and a termly cinema trip for a large group of children

• Provide a graduation party for the outgoing 6th class pupils and their families and a gift for each of these students in June

• When the need arises for additional teaching resources which would enhance the educational experience of the children they are always willing

Along with this they also:

• Organise our extremely successful Book Rental Scheme which is a mammoth task with over 85% of families partaking in the scheme

• Run a weekly in school library for all 3rd, 4th and 5th classes
• Provide catering for all in school events
