Speech & Drama
St. John’s Speech & Drama Group is affiliated with The Irish Board of Speech & Drama. This is an after school activity which takes place once a week.
St. John’s Speech & Drama group encourages creativity and endeavours to build confidence & communication skills to a high level. Activities include mime, reading for performance, poetry, improvisation, script reading , vocal exercises, public speaking and dramatic performances.
Children are encouraged to take part in The Arklow Music Festival and Christmas recitals putting into practice the skills and techniques learned in class.
Exams under the Irish Board of Speech & Drama .take place each year in the school . This is a fantastic experience for the students and enables them to progress through each level while receiving positive feedback and a great sense of achievement.
